I grew up in San Diego, California where I enjoyed the warm weather as I played soccer, swam, and was involved in 4-H. I graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo June 2006 with a B.S. in Animal Science and a minor in psychology. I gained hands on experience working at the Sheep Unit, the campus Dairy, and the Beef Unit. Currently, I am a Master's student investigating ideas for my research project. My interests include low stress handling, cow/calf relationships (on rangelands and dairies), cattle/sheep bonding, and multi-species grazing. I have a strong interest in using behavioral principles to improve environments for livestock and to create sustainable operations. I hope to explore my ideas further and am open to other ideas as I consider possibilities for research.
